What shall we do without our experts?

The world is so full of 'experts' on every subject that I could choke. My grandfather joked forty years ago that he had met a 'paatko expert' - a specialist in digging and cleaning wells. I just learnt there are people who call themselves 'happiness experts': see this.

Happiness is serious academic business these days, apparently.

Dear Sir,

This post reminds me of what you say so often about specialists being those people who know more and more about less and less until they end up knowing about everything about nothing. And you also used to say that a day will come when an ENT specialist will say that he treats only the left ear and one needs to consult another ENT for the right ear.

With regards,
Saikat.
